Buffalo Community Connectors

Local Program Administrator, East Buffalo Development Corporation (EBDC) is spearheading the series of summer initiatives to revitalize the Bailey community. Every effort aims to restore the vibrancy of this historic area – bringing together local organizations and leaders to produce impactful community events and projects that strengthen neighborly bonds, foster pride, and highlight the resilience of East Buffalo residents.

Summer Schedule & Grant Awardees!

Block Empowerment Grants

Nearby block clubs receive $5,000 grants for beautification, safety, and wellness projects. Block clubs receive additional organizational development and strategic planning support, as well as technical assistance in preparedness/ emergency planning.

AWARDED BLOCK CLUBS:

Kensington Farmers Market

Starting July 14th through Sept. 22, the community will enjoy fresh produce from local farmers of color at our bi-weekly farmers market, complete with live food demonstrations and samples – all at NO COST to Bailey neighborhood residents.

MARKET DAYS NOON – 4PM @ 894 KENSINGTON:

Eastside Youth Bike Rodeos

Monthly bike rodeos at local parks provide a safe space for children to learn bike-riding safety skills. Neighborhood youth receive a free bike, helmet, and lock. Bike technicians provide one-on-one repair tips, free bike repair, and replacement parts. 

EVENT DAYS & DETAILS:

Corridor Snow and Litter Removal

Program efforts include bi-weekly litter removal along Bailey Avenue from Winspear, south to the Rt. 33 viaduct from June to Oct.  Snow removal will take place during heavy snow days in Winter 2024. 

Quarterly Community Cleanups

Join the community in a day of collective corridor tender lovin’ care. Cleanups include coffee and doughnuts in the morning with grilled hot dogs and burgers for lunch…and a little music to celebrate! 

Community Meeting Space Renovation

Every community needs community space for planning, sharing, and connecting.   East Buffalo Development is proud to offer this resource  to the community thanks to support for renovations at the organization headquarters.
